    Omega 3 oil widely known as omega-3 fatty acid and scientific term for it is as n-3 fatty acid. They are basically the fats that are unsaturated, which is different from the edible oils that are saturated, and are not good for health. This oil is frequently found in all oily fish like salmon, mackerel, anchovies, and herring, and in some types of nuts as well, so we can simply include it in our meals. In addition we can eat flax and eggs to supplement our body.

    There are thus a number of benefits of eating omega-2 oils. Firstly they reduce the risk of heart problems. People who suffer from blood circulation are helped by the fish oil in their diet, as this improves the blood flow and breaks down the compounds that cause clots. They also aid in reducing blood pressure.

    Only 1 gram of omega 3 oil in the daily diet for three months on trial basis, has proved to reduce the death rate in Heart patients. There have also been clinical experiments that proved that giving this oil to patients resulted in a reduction in the thickness of the arteries, an improvement in blood circulation and a reduction in blood sugar levels. In addition to this the treatment with this oil has reduced cholesterol levels.

    Other benefits of Omega-3 oils have also been reported in rheumatoid arthritis patients, as well as those with cardiac arrhythmias. There is also evidence that shows these oils can help patients who are depressed or suffer from anxiety. They also reduce the chance of strokes when taken in moderation; however, large quantities can actually cause a stroke.

    Experiments have also shown that these oils are helpful in preventing cancer. They reduce the growth of tumour, thus helpful in increasing the survival rate. Regular consumption of this oil, either through supplements or including fish in the diet is also known to lessen aggression and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

    Fish oil is also known to boost the bodys immune system, thus making the body more resistant to catching illnesses. It also helps improve memory, and guards against memory loss.

    There are health risks associated with taking omega-3 oil. In case it is taken more than the quantity recommended that is three grams per day, it can cause bleeding in people already taking aspirin, and it can cause a stroke if taken in very large amounts. It is also used to reduce blood sugar in diabetic patients, and by suppressing immune responses it can decrease the bodys resistance to bacteria.

    In case you suffer from congestive heart failure or angina, then you should talk to your doctor before taking an omega-3 supplement as it can, in large quantities, reduce the rate of hearts beating, and if the heat already weak it can result in the heart being unable to pump adequate blood throughout the body, which may lead to death.

    Omega-3 oil is essentially good for most people; however it is recommended that you talk to your doctor before taking a supplement.

    I grew up in Iceland where we would drink the pure fat from fish liver. It’s called lysi and it was awful. Today you can get it in pill form.

    I can’t say as I understood just how what we ingest benefits our bodies. But once I grew up, I decided to find out. I was especially curious about the lysi.

    Our bodies require certain vitamins and nutrients. Our bodies are not capable of creating many of them so we have to ingest them. Omega Fatty Acids is one of these essential polyunsaturated fatty acids.

    Fish can supply the omega fatty acids (tuna, herring, salmon). Two servings per week though is the suggested limit as they also contain mercury.

    Sunflower seeds, soybeans, olive oil and avacados also contain omega fatty acids. There are a number of foods that have the fatty acids added to them in manufacturing such as some cereals, orange juice and baby food.

    Food is a great way to add omega fatty acids to your body. You might want to consult with your nutritionist to verify just how much is enough for you.

    For those whose diets do not provide an adequate amount of the omega fatty acids, supplements may be a good alternative.

    How is this actually beneficial? For one, babies require it for proper development.

    Research even shows that some heart related problems can be reduced by regular intake of omega fatty acids. Blood pressure can also benefit from this.

    Rheumatoid arthritis, depression and anxiety disorders are problems that can be assisted with omega fatty acids.
